This wine originates from Chile, within the Maipo Valley and the subregion of Alto Jahuel. Viña Santa Rita was founded in 1880, anchoring its legacy in the historical Alto Maipo terroir where its original ungrafted vines continue to thrive. Winemaker Sebastián Labbé guides the estate's vision, maintaining a philosophy centered on elegance, balance, and pure terroir expression.
Wine Description
This deep ruby wine opens with pure aromas of blackcurrant, ripe cherries, and plum, intertwined with complex notes of sweet tobacco, cedar, graphite, and subtle spices. On the palate, it exhibits a full body with a refined, silky tannin structure, vibrant acidity, and remarkable concentration. The finish is long and persistent, carrying lingering accents of licorice, cocoa, and dried herbs. The varietal composition is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. It has an alcohol content of 14% ABV and is not certified organic.
Vintage Quality
The 2022 growing season in Alto Jahuel was notably cool and dry, allowing for extended, slow grape ripening. These conditions required careful management in the vineyard, enabling the winemaker to produce a precision-focused vintage defined by fresh acidity, firm tannins, and extraordinary aging potential.
