First planted in 1999, the Lenswood vineyard combines high altitude, mature vines, and diverse aspects, including cool east and south facing blocks. It is a great source for wines that can stand alone as single vineyard releases, with the balance to reward ageing.
The vineyard gives out Pinot Noir of delicacy and fragrance, with fresh acid, and subtle layers of flavour and texture. Deep in colour, with red fruit and spice aromas. Complex and dense with a bright palate and savoury finish.
97 Points - Decanter
An exciting lean and lively nose signals this is the type of taut, edgy Pinot Noir that the Adelaide Hills has struggled to capture, despite the region being heavily planted to the variety. This is a model of winemaking restraint, allowing the vineyard to speak, with fleshy cherry and hint of tart mandarin providing a comforting tone, but its firm acidity and ripe, stalky grip ensuring good discipline is maintained in the shape and structure of a svelte flavour profile.
