Colour: Medium to deep garnet with purple hues, indicating its concentration and maturity.

Aroma: Expressive notes of red and black cherries, black raspberries, pepper, star anise, and violets, creating a complex and inviting bouquet.

Palate: Medium-bodied with a soft, satiny texture, offering fresh and pure flavors of red and black fruits, complemented by gentle spice and floral undertones. The palate is well-balanced, with great concentration leading to an elegant, long finish.

Body: Medium-bodied with a smooth, refreshing texture that emphasizes purity and balance.

Finish: Bright and lingering, with a delicate minerality that leaves a refreshing and slightly saline aftertaste.

Accolades:

  • 96 Points – James Suckling
  • 92 Points – Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

Shaw + Smith Shiraz 2013 is crafted to be enjoyed upon release but also has the potential to develop further complexity with short-term cellaring over the next decade. It pairs excellently with grilled meats, hearty stews, and aged cheeses, making it a versatile choice for various dining occasions. The wine was aged for 14 months in French oak, with one-third being new, enhancing its depth and complexity.
