St. Innocent Freedom Hill Chardonnay 2018

Product description

The philosophy behind the winemaking at St Innocent is that the function of wine is to complement and extend the pleasure of a meal. The characteristics of a wine should enhance different food and flavor combinations - this interaction amplifies the pleasure of a meal. To this end, St. Innocent wines tend toward higher acid levels, and more diverse and balanced flavors.

Complex, dense, yellow, floral and fruit aromas on the nose are accented by stony minerality across the mid-palate. Flavors of peach, dried apple and nutmeg are rich and bright with a touch of orange marmalade. Texturally very broad across the palate, the viscosity lingers long into the finish.

Pair with a variety of lighter and complex dishes especially chicken and crab.

92 Points - James Suckling

Aromas of thyme, peach and lemon curd. Medium-to full-bodied with zesty acidity and drive. Very bright. Refreshing finish. Light phenolic texture pulls it forward.
