Product description
This classic craft cider originates from Canada, specifically Calgary, Alberta. SunnyCider is Calgary's premier craft cidery, born out of a community project in the Sunnyside neighbourhood where co-founder Tim Kitchen began home-fermenting in 2010. The business was formalized in 2019 by Tim and Darlene Kitchen alongside Dennis Scanland, with a philosophy focused on community, waste prevention, and low-intervention production.
The 'Apple' is the cidery's flagship product, crafted from 100 per cent Canadian apples. It is made using a combination of urban apples harvested through a Calgary community donation program and fresh apple juice from the Okanagan. The cider presents as a straight, pure expression of the fruit with zero artificial flavours or preservatives. On the palate, it is dry, crisp, and incredibly refreshing, bursting with authentic apple flavour. Stylistically, it is a low-sugar beverage that follows a low-intervention winemaking approach, meaning the fermentation is gently guided without chemical additives or heavy filtering. The alcohol by volume (ABV) is 5.1 per cent. All SunnyCider products are gluten-free and vegan.
