Tardieu Laurent Saint Joseph Vieilles Vignes 2018
A half whole bunch fermentation. Classic Saint-Joseph nose of pepper and violets. On the palate, this is pure, delicate, and ephemeral. The purple fruit of the palate is insinuatingly fine, with supple tannins. Aged for a year in barrel, then eight months in foudres.
92 Points - Wine Enthusiast Smoke and cassis collide in this zippy, invigorating Syrah made from half destemmed fruit and matured 20 months in a combination of new, one-year-old and large-format barrels. At a slim-feeling 13.5% abv, it's a cutting, intensely mineral red that's appealing now but should drink well through 2024.
