'The Globe' is the fourth release in the acclaimed Historical Collection, celebrating centuries of Port heritage and Taylor Fladgate's mastery of cask-aged Port. The limited-edition bottle is inspired by the spherical, mouth-blown 'shaft and globe' English wine bottles prevalent in the mid-17th century.
Wine Description
'The Globe' is a specially blended Reserve Tawny Port. It presents a deep, reddish-brown core framed by a slender brick-red rim. The mature, rich nose offers inviting aromas of coffee, butterscotch, dried fruit, plum, and raisin, enveloped by delicate notes of spice, wood, and nuttiness. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and dense with a smooth, velvety texture. Flavours of indulgent caramel, toffee, nuts, and preserved fruit linger, culminating in a long, warming finish.
Food Pairing
The aged Tawny Port's mellow, nutty profile makes it a natural match for pecan pie, crème brûlée, or even aged Manchego cheese.
