Product description

This structured and 'aristocratic' sparkling wine originates from France, within the prestigious Champagne A.O.C. appellation. Produced by Champagne Telmont (formerly J. de Telmont) a historic house established in 1912 in Damery, near Épernay, and now pioneering organic viticulture alongside eco-conscious partners this 2014 vintage Blanc de Noirs represents a celebration of black-skinned grapes. Sourced primarily from choice plots across Damery, Aÿ, Cumières, and the Côte des Bar, the vines are rooted in deep chalk, clay-limestone, and gravelly alluvial subsoils. The 2014 growing season featured a warm spring followed by a cool, damp summer and a sunny, dry September, allowing Pinot Noir and Meunier to build rich phenolic fruit concentration while maintaining an electric, mouthwatering natural acidity.

Wine Description

The 2014 Telmont Blanc de Noirs presents a luminous, pure golden hue in the glass with subtle copper-pink reflections and an exceptionally fine, persistent stream of delicate, energetic bubbles (mousse). Its sensory profile is exceptionally fresh, high-toned, and complex, delivering an opulent, dark-toned, and precise portrayal of vintage Champagne. The bouquet opens with an inviting display of fresh red berries, wild raspberries, tart red cherries, and kirsch, seamlessly layered with complex underlays of meringue, toasted brioche, dragée almonds, cardamon spice, and a subtle line of crushed chalk minerality. On the palate, the wine is medium-to-full-bodied, sleek, and precisely focused, showcasing a succulent core of red stone fruits, blood orange peel, and dark spice. It is characterized by its outstanding inner energy and an incisive, mouthwatering backbone of natural acidity that effortlessly lifts its mid-palate density. The mouthfeel is broad, supple, and weightless, framed by fine-grained phenolic grip that carries into an extraordinarily long, dry, and mineral-driven finish accented by persistent notes of vanilla, salty minerality, and toasted nuts.
