Tenuta Garetto Rosina Barbera d'Asti is a red wine from the Asti subregion of Piedmont, Italy. The estate, located in the village of Agliano Terme, was acquired in 2017 by the Gagliardo family, who have a long winemaking history dating back to 1847. Managed by the family's sixth generation, the winery's philosophy emphasizes the expression of the Nizza DOCG area's unique character through a blend of tradition and modern skill, often utilizing the estate's significant prevalence of old vines.
Wine Description
This red wine displays a deep colour and a fresh, round sensory profile. The sensory profile features prominent aromas of red cherry, red plum, and red liquorice, with additional notes of soil and earthy spice. On the palate, it is medium bodied and bright, characterized by high acidity and low, supple tannins that contribute to a remarkable finesse. The flavour profile includes ripe berries, blackberry, and black cherry, leading to a fresh and intense finish. This 100% Barbera is sourced from slightly younger vineyards on the estate and is aged in neutral containers, such as stainless steel and concrete tanks, to maintain fruit purity. It has an ABV of 14% and is produced as an organic wine.
