Product description
Originating from Italy in the famous Tuscany region, specifically within the Valdarno di Sopra subregion, Tenuta Sette Ponti Crognolo represents a pioneering Super Tuscan expression rooted in historic winemaking traditions. Acquired in the 1950s by the Moretti C privacy family, Tenuta Sette Ponti takes its name from the seven historic bridges spanning the Arno River between Florence and Arezzo. The estate’s winemaking philosophy combines high density organic viticulture, strict cluster selection, and traditional cellar techniques to produce rich, site driven wines that showcase the distinct clay and gravel soils of the estate.
Wine Description
The wine presents an intense, dark ruby red colour with violet reflections in the glass. An expressive and layered bouquet opens with vibrant aromas of ripe dark cherry, wild blackberry, and red plum, accompanied by delicate hints of dried violet, espresso bean, cedar, and warm sweet spice. On the palate, it is full bodied, generous, and well structured, delivering concentrated flavours of black cherry, cassis, and cocoa, balanced by a core of energetic natural acidity. Framed by smooth, polished tannins and an undercurrent of fine stone minerality, it glides into a long, lingering finish. Composed predominantly of Sangiovese blended with a small portion of Merlot and aged in French oak barriques, it combines classic Tuscan Sangiovese acidity and elegance with modern fruit richness and velvety texture.
