Product description
This additive-free, unaged silver tequila originates from Mexico, produced at NOM 1414 (Feliciano Vivanco y Asociados) in Arandas, within the High-Altitude Highlands (Los Altos) of Jalisco. Named Elvira in homage to a legendary figure within the brand's lore, this special limited-edition release is crafted using 100% mature Blue Weber agave grown in iron-rich red clay soil. Following traditional brick oven (horno) roasting and roller-mill extraction, the agave juice undergoes open-air fermentation using proprietary cultured yeast strains (including wine-yeast influences typical of Master Distiller Sergio Cruz). Distilled in small copper pot stills, this small-batch blanco is bottled unaged at a robust, higher-than-standard strength of 92 proof (46.0% ABV)—delivering a pure, unadulterated, and terroir-driven expression of Highland agave.
Spirit Description
This blanco tequila presents crystal clarity with bright silver flashes and heavy, slow legs clinging to the glass. On the nose, it is remarkably aromatic and lifted, opening with concentrated notes of sweet oven-roasted agave, bright Meyer lemon peel, and crushed mint, underlaid by wet stone minerality, floral orange blossom, and fresh white pepper spice. On the palate, it feels rich, oily, and mouth-coating, delivering an immediate wave of natural agave sweetness, tropical fruit brightness (guava and green apple), and lemongrass. As it flows across the palate, the elevated 46% ABV strength provides structure and warmth without aggressive burn, developing into crisp mineral salt, herbal anise, and a prickle of jalapeño pepper. The finish is exceptionally long, warm, and clean, trailing off with lingering roasted agave sweetness, citrus zest, and a persistent, dry mineral spice.
Accolades
Lost Lore Elvira Blanco has earned high acclaim among tequila purists, additive-free aficionados, and craft spirits collectors. Produced at the esteemed NOM 1414 distillery—famed for traditional, non-industrialized techniques—it routinely scores top marks on platforms like Tequila Matchmaker. Spirits critics applaud the bottling for showcasing Master Distiller Sergio Cruz's signature ester-driven fermentation profile, celebrating how the 46% ABV proof amplifies the natural sweetness and mineral complexity of Highland agave without masking it behind wood or additives.
