More Information
Product description
Terravista Vineyards is a boutique winery located on the prestigious Naramata Bench in the Okanagan Valley, British Columbia. Founded with a unique focus on Spanish white varietals, Terravista famously pioneered planting Albariño and Verdejo in Canada.
The 2024 Fandango represents a highly historic, unique chapter for the winery. Following a catastrophic winter freeze in early 2024 that decimated grapevines across British Columbia, the provincial government temporarily permitted wineries to import fruit to survive. Terravista launched the "Proyecto Terruño" (Terroir Project), utilizing their winemaking expertise to craft their signature blend using premium Pacific Northwest and California fruit.
Wine Description
The Terravista Fandango 2024 is a vibrant, highly aromatic, and beautifully structured white wine that mimics the estate's classic Naramata style with a broader textural lens.
Appearance: Brilliant, clear pale straw with greenish reflections.
Nose: Expressive and perfumed. The bouquet opens with intense notes of jasmine, honeysuckle, and orange blossom, mingling seamlessly with ripe white peach, Bartlett pear, and fresh lemon zest.
Palate: Smartly composed and highly tactile. The entry is creamy and padded, delivering succulent flavors of fragrant apricot, pomelo, and lemons dipped in honey. Albariño provides a racy, electric, and mouthwatering acidity, while the Verdejo grounds the blend with a subtle kiss of melon and green herbal notes. The finish is snappy, clean, and accented by a persistent saline minerality.
Technical Details: A dry blend of 51% Albariño and 49% Verdejo. The Albariño was sourced from the acclaimed Evergreen Vineyard (Ancient Lakes AVA, Washington) and Grand Island Vineyard (Clarksburg, California). The Verdejo was sourced from Sheep Ranch Vineyard (Dunnigan Hills, California). Winemaker Nadine Kinvig fermented the bulk in stainless steel to retain zesty freshness, while a portion of the Albariño was fermented in concrete eggs to build mid-palate weight and a creamy texture. Alcohol content sits at 13.0% ABV with 0.0 g/L residual sugar (bone-dry).
Food Pairing
Fandango's signature combination of intense aromatics, structural weight, and crisp acidity makes it a textbook "chameleon" at the dining table. It is an absolute standout alongside seafood dishes, particularly moules au vin blanc (mussels in white wine), garlic-butter prawns, or grilled halibut. It balances effortlessly with fresh Mediterranean tapas, herb-crusted goat cheese, or a zesty arugula and feta salad.
