Introduction

This white wine originates from the United States, primarily sourced from the Carneros district of California. The Prisoner Wine Company was established in 2000 by winemaker Dave Phinney and has been owned by Constellation Brands since 2016. The winery's philosophy is rooted in a collaborative approach, where the winemaking team works with a family of over 100 growers to source fruit from premier vineyards throughout California to create interesting blends of distinct character.

Wine Description

The Prisoner Chardonnay displays a medium yellow straw hue. The nose is aromatic and complex, offering scents of vanilla, apple pie, and pineapple, complemented by floral notes of honeysuckle and jasmine. On the palate, the wine is full bodied and layered, delivering concentrated flavours of baked apple, crème brûlée, and ripe pineapple integrated with toasted oak. It is characterized by its smooth texture, vibrant acidity, and a long finish that reveals grace notes of spices and buttery shortbread. This wine is predominantly Chardonnay, often featuring splashes of other varieties such as Viognier and Gewürztraminer.
