Product description

Introduction

This red wine originates from the United States, produced from vineyards in the Sonoma Coast appellation of California, specifically sourced from the Russian River and Carneros AVAs. The Prisoner Wine Company was established in 1998 and is currently owned by Constellation Brands, a major beverage company that has supported its growth since 2016. The winery's philosophy is rooted in a collaborative approach, where the winemaking team works with over 100 small-scale growers across California to source unique fruit for its bold and unconventional blends.

Wine Description

The Prisoner Pinot Noir 2021 displays a medium ruby hue in the glass. The nose is expressive and complex, offering aromas of black cherry, fresh cranberry, and pomegranate, accented by notes of cedar, clove spice, and dried herbs. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and structured, delivering layers of ripe red fruit, rhubarb, and black tea integrated with hints of cardamom, lavender, and cinnamon. It is characterized by its smooth, silken texture, bright orange acidity, and soft tannins that culminate in an elegant and balanced finish. This 100 percent Pinot Noir has an ABV of 14.5 percent and is not certified organic. The optimal drinking window for this inaugural vintage is from 2025 onwards, making it a suitable choice for collectors.
