This landmark wine presents an intense ruby red colour enhanced by purple highlights. The aromatic profile is complex and heady, offering a bouquet of red and black cherries, pomegranate, and violets, balanced by balsamic hints and suggestions of sweet pipe tobacco, vanilla, and loamy earth. On the palate, the wine is powerful and supple, delivering a dense core of blackcurrant and crème de violette fruit that is supported by velvety tannins and a vibrant mineral freshness. It finishes long and echoing with floral and fruity notes. The 2022 vintage is a blend composed of 78% Sangiovese, 18% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 4% Cabernet Franc. It has an alcohol content of 14% ABV and an optimal drinking window extending from 2026 through 2046.
