From New Zealand’s Marlborough region, Tiraki is rooted in the Southern Valleys on Longfield Farm, where the Hammond family has farmed for six generations. Established as a winery in 2020, Tiraki reflects the family’s Ngāi Tahu Māori heritage—‘Tiraki’ translates to ‘clearing of the sky’—and their commitment to sustainable viticulture and expressive wines.
Wine Description
This Sauvignon Blanc shines with a pale straw colour and green highlights. Aromas of passionfruit, guava, peach, grapefruit, and fresh herbs rise from the glass, accented by hints of lime and wild nettle. The palate is vibrant and textural, balancing tropical fruit intensity with crisp minerality and lively acidity. Medium-bodied and elegant, the finish is long and lingering, leaving a refreshing impression.
Food Pairing
Ideal with freshly shucked oysters, grilled white fish, shellfish, or vibrant salads. Soft cheeses such as goat’s cheese also complement its herbal edge. This pairing highlights the wine’s depth and character.
