Toki Black Japanese Whisky

Introduction

Suntory Toki Black is a limited-edition blended Japanese whisky from the House of Suntory, released in late 2025 to mark the tenth anniversary of the original Toki brand. Produced by Suntory Spirits, which operates the iconic Yamazaki, Hakushu, and Chita distilleries, this expression was inspired by Japan's vibrant 'Jazz Kissa' (jazz listening bar) culture. It represents a significant evolution of the standard Toki profile, introducing a peated element to the blend for the first time in the series' history.

Spirit Description

This whisky possesses a clear gold appearance with bright highlights. The nose is aromatic and layered, featuring scents of baked apple, oregano, and honey blossom. On the palate, the body is richer and more complex than the original expression, delivering flavours of butterscotch sweetness balanced by notes of clove, cinnamon, and toasted rosemary. The finish is persistent and spicy, characterized by white pepper, ginger, and a refined, gentle lingering smokiness derived from the inclusion of Hakushu peated malt. It is bottled at 43% ABV.
