Tornatore Etna Rosso 2022 presents a light ruby red color with faint purple reflections. The sensory profile is bright and fresh, featuring an aromatic nose of pristine red cherries, wild strawberry, and lavender, layered with sophisticated notes of wet stone, licorice, and a "whiff of smoky aromas". On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied and "crunchy," showcasing a beautiful balance of ripe red fruit and steely minerality. It is characterized by crisp acidity and "chalky" tannins that lead to a dry, savory finish with a delicate saltiness. This blend typically consists of 95% Nerello Mascalese and 5% Nerello Cappuccio, reaching an ABV of 14% to 14.5%. The 2022 vintage was matured in a mix of large wooden barrels and stainless steel to preserve its "scented freshness".
