Produced in the Piedmont region of Italy, this wine is a pure expression of the Langhe DOC, with fruit sourced from high-elevation vineyards in Barolo, Novello, and Sinio. The G.D. Vajra estate was revitalized in 1972 by Aldo Vaira, who became a pioneer of organic viticulture in the region. Today, the winery remains a family affair, guided by a philosophy of 'recipe-free' attention and a deep commitment to biodiversity and the authentic preservation of Piedmontese traditions.

Wine Description

This 100% Nebbiolo is celebrated for its 'varietal truth', displaying a lively light garnet colour in the glass. The aromatic profile is expressive and ethereal, featuring a bouquet of dried rose petals, crushed violets, and mountain raspberries intertwined with notes of lavender, mint, and citrus peel. On the palate, the wine is medium bodied and energetic, offering a 'pulpy' texture with flavours of sour cherry, strawberry, and cranberry balanced by a chalky minerality. It is defined by its silky, well-integrated tannins and a lifted, savory finish. While designed to be enjoyed young for its freshness, it possesses the structure for a graceful evolution over the next decade.
