Product description

This deep and vinous sparkling wine originates from France, specifically within the Champagne region and the Grand Cru subregion of Bouzy in the Montagne de Reims. Jean Vesselle is a traditional 'récoltant-manipulant' (grower) house that has been tilling the chalky soils of Bouzy for nearly 300 years. The winery's philosophy is centred on championing Pinot Noir, and they have been HVE (High Environmental Value) certified since 2019, reflecting a commitment to sustainable viticulture and the elimination of weedkillers in their 15 hectares of vines.

Wine Description

Jean Vesselle Rosé de Saignée Brut presents a striking, deep cherry or ruby pink colour that is achieved through a short maceration process where the must 'bleeds' colour from the skins. The sensory profile is intense and fruity, featuring an aromatic nose of wild raspberries, black cherries, and spiced orange peel, layered with sophisticated notes of rhubarb, red poppy, and wet stones. On the palate, the wine is medium to full bodied and 'frothy', showcasing excellent concentration and a juicy mouthfeel balanced by a lively acidity. It is characterized by its remarkable harmony and silky texture, leading to a long finish with mineral undercurrents and hints of white pepper. This 100% Pinot Noir wine typically has an ABV of 12% and a dosage of approximately 8 to 9 grams per litre. While the estate follows sustainable practices, this specific bottling is not certified organic.
