Product description
Vietti Colli Tortonesi Derthona Timorasso represents a bold expansion for the iconic Barolo producer into Southeastern Piedmont.
Timorasso is an ancient, indigenous white grape that nearly went extinct before its "renaissance" in the late 1980s. It is often referred to as the "Barolo Bianco" (White Barolo) because of its powerful structure, high acidity, and remarkable ability to age for 10–15 years or more. Vietti's entry into the Colli Tortonesi region highlights the variety's growing status as one of Italy's most prestigious white wines.
Wine Description
This wine is a 100% Timorasso, sourced from calcareous (limestone) and clay hillside vineyards in and around Monleale.
Appearance: Intense yellow with vibrant green hues.
Aromas: Youthful notes of pear, peach, acacia, and hawthorn. As it ages (2–3+ years), it develops complex "ethereal" notes of honey and hydrocarbons (similar to aged Riesling).
Palate: Dry, warm, and broad. It is known for a "saline" backbone and high mineral tension that balances its powerful alcohol and textural weight.
