Volcan X.A. is an ultra-premium tequila produced in Mexico, within the region of Jalisco and the subregion of El Arenal. Launched in 2022, the brand is a collaboration between the Gallardo family, who have roots in the region dating back to 1774, and the luxury goods group Moët Hennessy (LVMH). The spirit is crafted at its own dedicated facility, Distillería Agrotequilera de Jalisco (NOM 1523), located at the foot of the Tequila Volcano. The "X.A." designation stands for "Extra Ages," representing a commitment to the "art of blending" rarely seen in the tequila category.

Spirit Description

Volcan X.A. is an innovative, additive-free blend of three distinct aging stages: Reposado, Añejo, and Extra Añejo, all made from 100% Blue Weber agave. The blend uses a proprietary "Grace Cask" system American oak barrels that have been lightly toasted to enhance aromatic elegance without overpowering the agave.

• Appearance: A bright, golden amber hue, presented in a handcrafted "luminous" bottle with a light-up base that reflects the volcano's energy.

• Nose: A sophisticated bouquet of cooked agave, rich vanilla, and caramel, layered with dried red fruits, dark chocolate, and a hint of toasted oak.

• Palate: Exceptionally smooth and full-bodied. The Reposado base provides sweetness and a silky mouthfeel, while the Añejo and Extra Añejo components add complexity with notes of sweet spice, honey, and roasted agave.

• Finish: A long, buttery finish marked by subtle bits of cinnamon sugar and a clean, peppery warmth.
