Wild Life Barrel Aged Gin

Wild Life Barrel Aged Gin originates from the heart of the Canadian Rockies in Canmore, Alberta. Founded in 2017 by Keith Robinson and Matt Widmer, Wild Life Distillery is an artisanal producer dedicated to the 'mountain lifestyle', using Rocky Mountain water and Alberta prairie grains. The distillery underwent a significant expansion in 2023 to increase its production capacity while maintaining its focus on handcrafted, small batch spirits.

Spirit Description

This expression begins as the distillery's classic gin, which is distilled from Alberta spring wheat and malted barley before being aged in charred American oak ex-bourbon barrels. It presents a warm, amber hue and a medium to full body with a smooth, 'whisky-like' mouthfeel. The aroma features sweet, soft bourbon notes of vanilla and oak dancing with traditional juniper and bright citrus. On the palate, layers of candied orange and warming spice emerge, complemented by the mellow influence of the wood. The finish is long and persistent, leaving lingering notes of cassia, black pepper, and toasted oak. It is bottled at 47.2% ABV.
