Product description

The Yamazaki 18 Year Old Single Malt Japanese Whisky originates from the Osaka prefecture in Japan. Established in 1923 by Shinjiro Torii, Yamazaki is revered as the birthplace of Japanese whisky. Nestled in a misty vale where the Katsura, Uji, and Kizu rivers converge, the distillery's production philosophy heavily emphasizes multi-layered maturation, utilizing unique local soft water and a diverse array of cask shapes and sizes to achieve an unrivaled complexity.

Spirit Description

This legendary single malt presents a deep bronze and amber colour. The nose offers an immediate, captivating wall of dark fruitiness—evoking dates, prunes, and blueberry—balanced by dark honey, bitter marmalade, and vanilla. On the palate, the whisky delivers a rich, velvety entry of manuka honey, caramelized peaches, and plum wine, followed by complex mid-palate notes of walnut, cinnamon, and black pepper. Composed of 100% malted barley, it features a masterfully blended profile consisting of roughly 80% sherry-cask aged spirits, with the remainder matured in American and rare Mizunara oak. Bottled at 43% ABV, it concludes with a long, dry, and refreshing finish dominated by lingering citrus peel and a cooling touch of mint.
