Yellowstone American Single Malt Whiskey

Yellowstone American Single Malt Whiskey is a permanent line extension under the historic Yellowstone brand umbrella, initially launched in March 2023. The brand is operated by Limestone Branch Distillery in Lebanon, Kentucky, which was founded by seventh-generation distillers Stephen and Paul Beam. While the Beam brothers are celebrated for their traditional Kentucky bourbons, this expression represents their foray into the rapidly growing American Single Malt (ASM) category. To pull it off, the spirit is contract-distilled and aged in Indiana (commonly sourced from the MGP facility) before being blended and bottled in Kentucky.

2. Spirit Description

Unlike Scottish single malts, which traditionally age in used cooperage, this expression adapts to the American palate by using brand-new, deep-charred American oak barrels.

• Colour: A rich, medium golden amber hue with subtle reddish highlights.

• Aroma: The nose opens with a prominent bouquet of fresh bread, cereal malt, and toasted grains. It is layered with sweet baking spices, honey, a light touch of peach blossom, and a distinct nuttiness.

• Palate: It features an oily, viscous texture. Rather than mimicking a traditional Scotch, it leans into a bourbon-adjacent profile; notes of sweet honey, spiced pear, and stone fruits mingle with unique hints of banana nut bread, toffee, and dark dates.

• Body: Medium-bodied, rich, and dense, offering a full mouthfeel that effectively balances sweet grain character with robust wood components.

• Finish: Long and warming, presenting a hefty wave of neutral American oak tannins, sharp cinnamon spice, and English walnuts.

• ABV: Bottled at a bold and punchy 54% (108 Proof).
