Product description

This structured and 'crystalline' white wine originates from Italy, within the prestigious Alto Adige D.O.C. (Südtirol) appellation of the far northern alpine region. Cantina Tramin (historically and colloquially associated with the historic winegrowing traditions of the area) is one of the most celebrated cooperative wineries in the region, based in the village of Termeno (Tramin). Operating under a precision-focused winemaking philosophy that champions varietal purity, crisp alpine freshness, and site transparency, the estate works closely with local growers to cultivate low-yielding heritage vines. Rooted in complex soils of mineral-rich limestone, gravelly morainic debris, and sandy clay deposits, these high-altitude hillside blocks benefit from intense daytime alpine sunlight paired with dramatic nighttime temperature drops, allowing the Pinot Grigio grapes to build exceptional aromatic clarity alongside a chiseled, mineral-driven backbone.

Wine Description

The Zemmer Pinot Grigio presents a brilliant, pale straw-yellow appearance in the glass with shimmering green reflections. Its sensory profile is exceptionally fresh, elegant, and high-toned, offering a masterfully vibrant expression of cool-climate white wine. The bouquet opens with an inviting, crisp display of green pears, yellow apples, and fresh lime zest, seamlessly layered with delicate floral undertones of white acacia blossoms, crushed stones, and a hint of fresh herbs. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied, sleek, and precisely focused, showcasing a juicy, refreshing core of orchard fruits and citrus oils. It is characterized by its outstanding inner energy and an incisive, mouthwatering backbone of natural acidity that cuts cleanly through the mid-palate. The mouthfeel is remarkably clean, supple, and textured, driven by a fine mineral tension that carries into a long, dry, and refreshing finish accented by lingering notes of white peach and cool slate.
