Shipping Policy
All deliveries within Calgary will be fulfilled and delivered by ZYN, with some exceptions.
For any deliveries outside of Calgary, we will use a courier. It is preferred that you use a business address for shipping, but we can ship to most residential addresses and some rural addresses. Due to some courier restrictions, we cannot ship to PO boxes.
ZYN does not itself ship outside of Alberta. However, if you request delivery outside of Alberta, you authorize us to engage a shipper on your behalf to pick up your order from our store and deliver it as you instructed. You are solely responsible for ensuring compliance with the applicable laws of the place where you have directed the courier to deliver your order.
We primarily use a specialized courier that uses temperature-controlled vehicles. Shipping during the winter and summer months is inherently risky. Please be aware that ZYN will delay shipping if we feel that there is a chance your package may be affected by extreme weather conditions.
Breakage, Damage and Loss
ZYN takes every reasonable precaution to package your order for safe delivery, and virtually all packages are delivered intact. Shipping is not, however, risk free. Once we have packaged your order in accordance with our normal practices, and have delivered your package to the courier, our liability ends. For your protection, every order is automatically insured to a maximum of $3.50 per pound of the scaled weight for breakage, damage or loss, regardless of the order value. Weight, though, may not be an adequate measure of value, depending on the order. We are therefore offering you the option of purchasing full protection for a fee, at the checkout page. Note that claims for damaged or broken products must be made within 4 days of delivery. Lost packages will be dealt with on an individual basis.
Courier Information
ZYN mainly ships using ATS Healthcare and Canada Post. ATS offers delivery in temperature-controlled vehicles.
ATS and Canada Post will deliver to a business or residential address. If possible, ZYN recommends shipping to a business address for the following reasons:
1. Someone of legal drinking age must be at the address to receive the package.
2. If no one is home after two delivery attempts, there will be an additional $15.00 charge for the third attempt.
Returns Policy
ZYN's goal is to ensure that all of our customers are satisfied with their orders. Should you need to return an item for any reason, please contact us at team@zyn.ca.
The following criteria apply in most cases:
1. If the item(s) is in saleable condition, the purchase price will be refunded within 30 days of the purchase date. If the item has been shipped outside Calgary, the shipping charges are the responsibility of the purchaser.
2. Faulty items will be evaluated on an individual basis before a decision is made.
3. There is an inherent risk in buying older wines. While we store all of our wines properly, wines may nevertheless be defective. We regret that we cannot accept wines more than seven years old and cost in excess of $100 unless the producer agrees to replace the wine.
A re-stocking fee may apply.

Figeac is the largest estate of Saint-Emilion, covering 54 hectares (133 acres). Besides its 40 hectares (99 acres) of vines, various landscapes combine to form a balance in nature. Figeac has large areas of space which add to the majesty of the place and allow flora and fauna to flourish. Figeac has an outstanding terroir consisting of three gravelly rises. In keeping with the nature of this soil, Figeac is the Right Bank estate with the highest percentage of Cabernet. This atypical combination accounts for elegant, long-lived wines and is highly well-reputed.
An attractive, deep, bright purple colour. An expressive, air-light nose leads on to Figeac freshness and aromatics, followed by floral notes mingling harmoniously with nuances of fruit and underpinned by aromas of blackcurrants and raspberries. The palate is expressive and vibrant, cadenced by a clean, powerful entry, an enveloping and velvety mid-palate reminiscent of 2015 vintage, and a fresh, lean finish accompanied by tannins of finesse and minerality that recall the 2016 vintage. The greatness of this vintage is embodied by the remarkable harmony between the round and developing Merlot, the fresh and elegant Cabernet Franc, and the lace-textured, tender Cabernet Sauvignon. The Chateau Figeac 2018 delivers the perfect chord from its famous three grape varieties. Blend: 37% Merlot, 33% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Cabernet Franc.
100 Points - Wine Enthusiast
With its rich swathe of Cabernet Sauvignon, this wine has density and immense structure balanced by stunning black fruits that give impressive promise. This powerful wine is probably the greatest ever produced from this estate. Drink from 2027. *Cellar Selection*
98 Points - James Suckling
A powerful, structured Figeac, offering loads of blackberry, blueberry, chocolate, walnut and mushroom with some tobacco. It's full-bodied with layered, chewy tannins that are polished and beautiful. So impressive and solid. Better than the great 2010? Time will tell. Goes on for a long time. Try after 2026.
98 Points - Decanter
Back to a more traditional blend after last year's frost impact, Figeac has done a wonderful job of harnessing the luxury of the vintage while maintaining freshness. This is extraordinarily focussed and precise, with a silky texture and inky depths, developing complexity as the flavours unfurl. These are big tannins, but they steal up on you, doing that subtle creep that's such a marker of the vintage. Powerful, utterly gorgeous, and a wine that will age well, this is equal to the estate's excellent 2016.
98 Points - Jeb Dunnuck
Reminiscent of the 2016 with its incredible purity and elegance, the 2018 Château Figeac offers a terrific perfume of crème de cassis, redcurrants, dried earth, tobacco, lead pencil, spring flowers, and exotic spice-driven nuances. Playing in the medium to full-bodied end of the spectrum, it's flawlessly balanced, has silky, polished tannins, and a stunning sense of purity. It doesn't have the sexiness of the 2015, but it's very much in the style of the 2018 vintage with its pure, elegant, haut couture-like style. And it doesn't show a hint of its 100% new oak élevage. Give bottles 4-5 years of bottle age and enjoy over the following 20-30 years. It's not the biggest or richest Saint- Emilion, yet the balance, finesse, and elegance are something to behold. I think it will check in behind the 2015 (and maybe the 2019) when all is said and done, but it's unquestionably one of the greatest Figeac in the past 20-30 years.
97+ Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2018 Figeac is composed of 37% Merlot, 33% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Cabernet Franc, with a 3.7 pH and 14% alcohol. Deep garnet-purple in colour, it soars out of the glass with opening notes of freshly crushed red and black cherries, mulberries and ripe, juicy plums, followed by hints of violets, damp soil, cedar chest, crushed rocks and pencil shavings. The medium-bodied, elegantly styled palate features bags of freshness and exquisitely ripe, beautifully poised tannins to support the bright, energetic black and red fruit layers, finishing on a lingering fragrant earth note. Rating: 97+
96 Points - Wine Spectator
Sleek and tightly focused, this is a racy style marked by a pure beam of cassis and cherry purée and infused with red tea, bergamot and bay hints. Very fresh and refined through the finish, with a long chalky thread lingering after everything else. Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Best from 2024 through 2038.
