Product description

Originating from France in the Bordeaux region, specifically within the Pessac Léognan AOC appellation in the Graves, Château Haut Brion Blanc 2024 represents one of the world's most legendary, rare, and aristocratic expressions of dry white wine. While Château Haut Brion earned historic renown as a Premier Grand Cru Classé in the 1855 Classification for its red wine, its tiny production of white wine has long commanded equal or greater reverence among fine wine collectors. Sourced from less than three hectares of estate vineyards situated on high gravel terraces containing deep Günzian gravel, quartz pebbles, and clay-sand subsoils, the vines benefit from an ideal microclimate on the southwestern outskirts of Bordeaux. Under the stewardship of Prince Robert of Luxembourg, managing director Jean-Philippe Delmas, and the technical winemaking team, the grapes undergo meticulous manual harvesting in successive tries, gentle pneumatic pressing, and fermentation entirely in French oak barrels (approximately 45% to 50% new oak), followed by extended lees aging with regular stirring (bâtonnage). The result is a luminous, uncommonly textured white Bordeaux that balances opulent aromatic depth, electric tension, and monumental cellaring capacity.

Wine Description

The wine presents a luminous, clear pale gold colour with vibrant emerald and silvery reflections along the rim. An expressive, highly complex bouquet opens with noble aromas of ripe white peach, lemon curd, poached pear, and pink grapefruit, interwoven with sophisticated notes of orange blossom, honeysuckle, crushed flint minerality, beeswax, toasted brioche, and warm French oak cedar spice. On the palate, it is full bodied, silken, and energetic, delivering concentrated flavours of orchard fruits, candied citrus peel, and savoury mineral earth, all supported by a bright, mouthwatering spine of natural cool-climate acidity. Framed by a rich, waxy mid-palate structure and seamless phenolic grip, it concludes with an extraordinarily long, persistent finish marked by lingering citrus zest, roasted hazelnut, and a clean gravelly mineral drive. Composed of a classic blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon, this 2024 release offers an optimal drinking window spanning 2028–2050+. Stylistically, it combines monumental textural richness, crystalline mineral purity, and peerless Graves elegance.
